Humans are incredibly creative beasts. And we’re diverse too. This is important. In fact, diversity and creativity is critically important. These are renewable resources we can tap-into to create the world we imagine.
Coming to realise humans reflect nature is potent. HUMANS ARE ECOLOGY - a key phrase I’ve coined to help keep this in focus. We are nature and it’s cycles.
A leaf falls from the tree, feeding the bacteria and mycelium to create more soil and more life. Everything happens for a reason on this planet. Everything including our thoughts, feelings, needs, desires and actions - these are the leaves creating the soils of our lives.
We need these to be diverse and varied - it’s what helps life be whole, resilient, and regenerative (all basic qualities of a healthy nature system).
We’re one big whole system here on earth. From the individual inner-world, to the common unity of the collective, a similar set of principles governs how it all functions.
Permaculture coins perennial wisdoms known by many generations of humans for living a life of balance within our nature and social ecologies. Permaculture designs with the whole system in mind.
We need to learn to meet our needs - as individuals and as a collective - with tools amplifying life-force rather than degrading it.
We need to utilise healthy structures allowing our creativity to contribute to meaningful expressions of what we care about.
I’ve been in plenty of groups that have been monoculture, repetitive, and missing the opportunity to utilise the resource of human creativity. You probably have too.
The time for that is done. More than anything, it’s such a waste. It doesn’t have to be like that.
We can have rich and real experiences with the people in our groups. That reality is very possible.
If you, too, feel like things need to change - within yourself and the dynamics of the groups you're in (be it family, workplace, sports club, religious group, activist collective etc)….
If you’re depleted by not truly engaging your full being, and seeing others disempowered in how they operate….
If you’re ready to step-into taking responsibility and leadership for creating positive impact within yourself and in your groups and community…
…then developing skills and a toolkit in Social Permaculture might be valuable for you.
🌿 The upcoming SOCIAL PERMACULTURE WEEKEND - at Crystal Waters Eco Village on 18 & 19 May - is a unique offering to help humans step into empowered ways together.
This workshop offers two days of tools, resources and lived experience in doing people stuff based in care, nurturing and accelerating our greatness together.
