🌿Regenerative culture is the modus operandi of living systems.
Renewal, restoration, and resilience define ‘regeneration’. Common practices and relationship amongst people are the essence of ‘culture’.
Regenerative culture involves restorative ways allowing human and planetary health to thrive, while creatively responding to change. This means: life creates more life.
On the group and organisational level, regenerative culture can be expressed in various ways.
Cycles guide feedback loops for observing and recording the personal and collective (think sun and moon cycles) experience.
Circle formation in gatherings and decision-making allows communication transparency. Each person has ‘access’ to the information of body language and a view of the whole group.
Recognising, goal-setting for, and measuring the diverse aspects of being human brings awareness and integration of the whole self and surrounds. For example: physical, mental, emotional, relational, spiritual, hormonal, intellectual, financial.
Creating a mix of diverse characteristics amongst a group allows more information from different perspectives. For example: age, cultural background, gender, education, experience, skill.
🐜SLOW & SMALL SOLUTIONS:
Distributing power to teams in an organisation brings agility. Teams can accelerate results and refine their own systems to contribute to the greater whole.
Team check-in and check-out in meetings allows each person to become present and have completion. It informs a group of the real-time experience of it’s members, for reference during and beyond the meeting.
People in regenerative cultures flex, flow and create in response to change; rather than be blocked, reduced, and stagnant.
Social permaculture is regenerative social design. It applies the nature-informed principles of permaculture to create and accelerate people care for the individual and collective.
