It's time to be heard.
Authentic listening sessions one-to-one with Erin.
Web or phone call for up to 1.5 hours.
Having another hear you in sharing your life experiences & situations meets a deep need…
The need of being seen and understood.
So much is gained by being genuinely received when you outwardly express what's on your heart and mind. Speaking out-loud something you've carried inside can be therapeutic and progressive.
Especially with safety, non-judgement, and confidentiality.
HEARD authentic listening sessions provide this space.
You are the only one who truly knows what’s best for you.
Sometimes to know what's best it helps to have someone witness you, hold you, allow you to explore what’s happening in all the nooks and crannies of a situation.
The quality of listening provided to you affects the quality of thinking you do about a situation.
HEARD sessions with Erin provide an empathic and genuine calibre of listening. These sessions encourage you to think for yourself and tap into your own well-spring of good ideas.
Or simply... to be heard.

What happens in a HEARD session?
We get present together first. This involves a simple breathing practice to allow us to both be fully available to the session.
You state your intention for the session. What feeling or realistic state of being do you want to have by the end?
You share freely, fully and safely about your situation, idea, confusion. You have free rein to choose the topic.
You are simply heard. You might be asked a clarifying question. And if you wish, you can have reflected the underlying feelings and needs heard within your sharing.
We complete together. You check-in your intentions for the session. We do a simple breathing practice to close the sharing space.
The session provides you:
No interruptions.
Undistracted listening.
No advice given.
Care-full space.
Reflection of your feelings and needs.
You are encouraged to:
Speak from the heart - be in the full presence of your heart, rather than speaking from your mind.
Listen from the heart - listen to yourself with the love and non-judgement of your heart.
Be in essence - say what really needs to be said, and avoid unnecessary details to respect our time and attention.
Be in spontaneity - come with an open heart willing to hear what wants to be said in the session, rather than a pre-scripted download.
Why share with someone else?
Speaking things out loud and getting them outside your head, heart and body provides perspective and processing.
And sharing freely and confidentially with someone who isn’t involved in your life can be such a breath of fresh air.
The people in your life already have perceptions, assumptions, and backstory on you. It can be tricky for these people to not give advice or react when they see you in an unclear space.
When you share with someone who isn't involved in your day-to-day life, you access a fresh heart and a fresh set of ears.
Also, a skilled listener will:
Listen for your underlying needs.
Identify potential assumptions.
Support you to identify the strategies to move forward that you might already have but don’t realise.
Ask key clarifying questions to help action your next steps.
Sharing with a professional listener takes you into a deep empathy session - where you know you’re heard by someone who wants to hear you.
HEARD sessions are bit like having a personal diary who doesn’t talk back unless you want/need it. They provide a mirror, not a way forward.
Sharing with someone capable of being present helps you be real with what you’re saying.
What HEARD is not
HEARD sessions are not counselling. You will receive no diagnosis.
These sessions are for people who are able to do the work for themselves and who understand the only answers they receive will come from themselves.
Why share with Erin?
Mediator. As a mediator, I sit with people in times of conflict, helping them reach connect - within themselves and between each other. The mediation approach I offer is based on Non-Violent Communication (NVC, aka Compassionate Communication). This method is grounded in empathy; for self and for other. I bring this skill to HEARD.
Life-long authentic listener. I've been listening to people for a long time; having clear memories of listening actively as a young girl. I've had to find my voice and have clear boundaries when listening; so both the sharer and I are respected and honoured.
Strong capacity for presence. I listen from the heart. I speak from the heart. I've cultivated the art of being in essence when I speak. I trust myself, you, and the spirit of the moment so that I can be in spontaneity with what is said. Sharing circle practice has helped me develop presence with heart-sharing.
Secular worldview with a deep spiritual foundations. I've always been a spiritual person, beyond my Christian upbringing. I resonate with the core truths of many world-views; all which have usually have a commonality of love and equanimity. I regularly practice mediation, I know how to be in my body, and I love to be real with whatever way you show up.
Dedicated practice of unconditional love and unconditional trust. I have a practice of regularly stopping my task to actively feel myself choosing unconditional love and unconditional trust. This simple practice has taught me immensely. I continue to learn how to love and trust myself, and the world around me, unconditionally. This has helped me move beyond anxiety and a neediness for control. I trust life. I trust you.
Genuine compassion. I can't help but be genuine and compassionate. Sometimes this can be tricky because I feel what's happening and I don't disguise it. That said, diplomacy is a natural skill and I know how to be self-responsible.
